Meet Ceri, Silversmith and Sea Glass Jewellery Designer from North Wales

Welcome to Unearthed Gems, where every piece of jewellery begins with a walk along the beautiful coastline of North Wales.

I’m Ceri, a self-taught silversmith, jewellery designer, beachcomber, and nature enthusiast living and working amongst the stunning mountains and coastline of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. My passion for creating unique jewellery is inspired by the natural treasures I discover while exploring local beaches and coastal paths.

I have a deep appreciation for the beauty of the natural world and am constantly drawn to sea glass, sea pottery, driftwood, slate, shells, and other treasures washed ashore by the tides. Every piece I find has its own story, and I love transforming these forgotten fragments into meaningful pieces of jewellery that can be treasured for years to come.

My Jewellery Journey

My jewellery-making journey began while studying at Coleg Menai in Bangor, where I learned the foundations of jewellery design and metalwork. Since then, I have continued to develop my skills through dedication, experimentation, and a passion for learning traditional silversmithing techniques.

Over the years, I have taught myself a variety of specialist jewellery-making skills and attended additional workshops and courses, including cabochon stone setting and advanced silver jewellery techniques.

Today, every piece of jewellery is handcrafted by me using high-quality sterling silver and genuine sea glass collected from the beaches of North Wales.

Handmade Jewellery Inspired by the Welsh Coast

Each piece I create is completely unique. No two pieces of sea glass are ever the same, meaning every necklace, ring, bracelet, or pair of earrings has its own character and history.

My jewellery combines the raw beauty of the ocean with carefully handcrafted sterling silver settings, resulting in timeless pieces that celebrate nature, sustainability, and individuality.
